Sally Canario (pictured) said she was injured by an unruly child during a red-eye flight on April 2 that she took from Los Angeles to Minneapolis on Delta Airlines
She was in a window seat next to a little girl in a middle seat and her mother. The young child was lying with her head on her mother's lap and her feet next to Canario (circled). Throughout the majority of the flight, Canario said she was being kicked in the face, ribs and lap
A photo of Canario's mid-section shows it to be red (pictured) and she said she has cartilage damage from being repeatedly kicked, adding: 'My doctor assured me cartilage will heal but be painful for the next week'
Canario said that when she complained to the flight crew, she was informed that it was she who was the nuisance and not the child. Delta has since said the airline has apologized and that Canario's claim has been sent to the company's insurer
